Always love photographing this amazing friend! Nicky's portraits come out great regardless of if I didnt expose the film correctly or an image gets cut off. There just always seem to be at least two or three images from our shoots that i absolutely love every time. Thank you Nicky for being a great friend and model over the past couple years, and i hope that we get together and create more photographs in the near future.
Nikki was the first person I ever had the privilege of making photographs with. My first model. We met in the summer of 2007 in an introductory art class i had to take to get into art school. We both changed a lot since our first meeting but we've created so much and become great friends since then. She's always been an inspiration and fun to photograph and most importantly she's been an amazing friend.
Lately I've been experimenting with editing in my work and I wanted to show a recent photo I worked on and see what people thought. If you know me, I do very minimal editing when it comes my work, so this is a definite change for me. A good one for sure but it'll take some time to get used to and keep growing as an artist. I will most likely post the before and after so people can see the process and also because i want feedback haha.
This is a recent portrait I took of my friend Azzy this past weekend. I've been gradually working 35mm photography into my regular shoots and do far its been a fantastic experience. I have so many 35mm cameras that I can use, and I figured i need to be more mobile when i shoot sometimes. I have about 8 or 9 that i could use as alternate cameras when shooting with my Hasselblad so it should be fun!
Two photographs that are currently being exhibited at a local show about empowerment and feminism.
Sidenote: there's an interesting story behind these photographs. I find it interesting when photographs come together like this even though I had no intention of it happening. It's happened more then once I've noticed and, I might do another post with similar images that I've found throughout my hard drive. Funny thing about these images is that one of the models in the photographs suggested that I throw these two together because they would look awesome together and she was right!
